September Already?

Wow I can't believe that summer is over and here we are at Labor Day weekend. The summer flew by and it sure was a hot one! Now the cooler temps have rolled in and it's time to think about back to school, fall festivils and fall stitching. I have done just that. I have started a new project called Quaker Halloween Sampler by Cherished Stitches. I am using the colors called for, but I have also added a couple of my own, a yellow and a orange.

I also had another finish in the month of August. It was Joyful Summer by Country Cottage Needleworks. I love the bright colors of it and it does indeed make you feel joyful!

Another Tuesday

Happy Belated Valentines Day to all! Hope you got lots of chocolates, flowers and a nice dinner out!

My DH had to work that evening, so we haven't celebrated Valentine's Day, or my birthday which was last week also. I did receive a nice strawberry cream cake on my birthday and a dozen roses on Valentine's Day, so I was forgotten.

I did have a finish last night while watching the Olympics. I finshed up Blackbird's Small Token. It took me about a week to stitch it after having to frog the same area a couple of times. I finally left that part until last and it finally worked out. I need to take a picture so I can post it.

We still have snow on the ground and are expected to get more on Friday. I can't wait until the end of the month so I can visit DD where it is much warmer and no snow! I shouldn't complaint because I know others have a lot more snow than we do, but enough already!

My oldest grandchild, Nicholas will be 8 on Sunday. I can't beleive he is over 5! Time sure does go by fast once you get older. LOL We will be going to visit to celebrate his birthday.

Hope that all are well and warm whereever you are.

Stashing

Today I finally made it down to the LNS to pick up some stuff from Market. I got quite a few nice things. I got the new Crescent Colours, the new WDW floss, Blue Ribbons Hugs & Kisses, Love by Waxing Moon, A & E and Cape Cod Girls by The Primitive Needle and by Shakespeare Peddler, A Weary World Rejoices. I also got the fabric and floss kit for this. Almost forgot about the Blackbird Small Token. At least I am doing my part to stimulate the economy. LOL

I did manage to finish Simply Live by The Primitive Needle. Still need to take a picture of it to post. My camera needs to be charged(as I found out at grandson's birthday party yesterday) Ugh! I love the way it turned out!

We celebrated Nicholas's 7th birthday at The Ultimate Pizza place yesterday. I swear you can go broke there. It's similar to Dave and Buster's except that the food is buffet style all you can eat and then they have all the games. It's more for kids than Dave & Busters is.

I'm Back

I have really neglected my blog lately. I don't really know why. I think about posting, but then don't get around to it. Since I last posted I attended a stitching weekend with some of my stitching friends here in the area. We all meet at the retreat location (Jeanne's house) at 1pm on Friday. Everyone brings grab bags to share, food, drinks & snacks to share, our stitching, stuff you want to sell (patterns, fabric, etc.) and show & tell if you like. We spend the whole weekend stitching, eating, chatting, shopping and just plain old having fun with our friends sharing a hobby that we all love.
I started a project while I was at the stitch-in and finished it a few days later. It is LHN Cherries. I will post a pictures here for all to see.
Will catch up on posting some more stitching pictures later.
Have a great weekend!
